Release: February 2010 As every year you can expect this year as well, the scene is going to bring out new talented faces to the light again. That said, here´s one of the fastest rising talents of the Czech house scene - Mekki Martin. He has already become a Czech icon in the dance scene due to his rich dedication to both production and DJing in his own country. Since childhood, Mekki was inspired and addicted by the concept of deejaying and mixing club music. At the very early age of 15 he landed his first gigs at Brno’s most prestegious club Tabarin which has been his permanent residency ever since.' Due to his addicting 12hour sets incl. unique live collaborations with violinists and saxophone performers which are well known among clubbers for being emotionally charged and inspiring, Mekki Martin not only earned the title of being best house DJ in the Czech Republic, but it also offered him touring all around Europe and playing at prestigious clubs along side the world´s DJ elite like Radio Slave, Sven Väth, Bob Sinclair, Paul van Dyk, DJ Fergie, Above & Beyond and others... After releasing first own productions titled "Mile Trap" and "One Moment" on Czech Acapulco Records, he formed his own record label U.Recordings in April 2009. The launch of this label already received strong response and support from DJs like Roger Sanchez, Hernan Cattaneo, Judge Jules, Yass, Mark Sherry, Andy Moore and more. "Over The Top" featuring Big John on vox is his latest stunning dancefloor-friendly release and offers a brilliant remix by Germany´s mighty production outfit D.O.N.S., altogether it´s set to make a big splash in the global house scene. With this release and more to come very soon (among them a collab with the wonderful Terri B.) Mekki displays impressively he knows well what it takes to write a club smash and create a winner release. Not only we are left without doubt Mekki Martin and his label are those to watch out this year. |
